Haiti Leadership Conference 2025 - A Historic Gathering

September 1, 2025
Pastor Smitty

What an incredible blessing to return to Haiti once again! This year's annual leadership conference exceeded all our expectations as over 1,500 pastors, church leaders, and ministry workers gathered in Port-au-Prince for three days of powerful teaching, worship, and fellowship in the face of unprecedented challenges.

A Journey of Faith

Getting to Haiti this year required extraordinary faith and determination. With the security situation in Port-au-Prince being extremely volatile, many questioned whether we should go. But God made it clear - these pastors needed encouragement, and we needed to be there for them.

The journey itself was a testimony. Our team had to navigate closed airports, roadblocks, and challenging logistics. But nothing could stop what God had planned for this gathering.

Conference Highlights

This year's theme was "Leading with Faith in Difficult Times" – a message that resonated deeply with our Haitian brothers and sisters who face daily challenges yet continue to serve God with unwavering joy and dedication.

The Power of Worship

If you've never experienced worship in Haiti, you haven't truly experienced worship! Despite facing poverty, violence, and uncertainty, the Haitian church worships with a passion and authenticity that puts many American churches to shame.

Haiti Conference Attendees

The worship sessions were electric - thousands of voices lifted in praise, hands raised in surrender, tears flowing freely. This wasn't performance worship; this was the cry of desperate hearts finding hope in their Savior.

The Impact

These conferences are more than events—they are lifelines for Haitian pastors who often minister in isolation with limited resources. Many travel for hours, some walking for days through dangerous territory, just to attend.

One pastor from the northern mountains shared: "This conference reminds me that I am not alone. I return to my village with renewed strength, fresh teaching, and the knowledge that my brothers and sisters around the world are praying for me. Without this, I don't know if I could continue."

20+ Years of Covenant Partnership

This marks our 21st year of consistent partnership with the Haitian church. What started as a small gathering of 80 pastors has grown into a movement that impacts thousands of churches and hundreds of thousands of believers across Haiti.

Through political upheaval, devastating earthquakes, hurricanes, cholera epidemics, economic collapse, and now gang violence, we have remained committed to our Haitian family. This is not just a ministry trip—this is a covenant relationship that will not be broken.

We've seen Haiti through its darkest hours, and we'll be there when breakthrough comes. The faithfulness of the Haitian church inspires us and challenges our own faith.

The Next Generation

One of the most encouraging aspects of this year's conference was the large number of young pastors and leaders in attendance. The next generation of Haitian church leadership is rising up, and they are on fire for God!

We established a special mentorship program connecting seasoned pastors with emerging leaders. This investment in the next generation will bear fruit for decades to come.

Security Challenges

We must be honest - this year was the most challenging yet. The security situation required constant prayer and divine protection. Several times during the conference, we heard gunfire in the distance. Yet not once did the worship stop. Not once did fear overtake faith.

The Haitian pastors taught us what it means to truly trust God. They live daily with threats we can barely imagine, yet their faith is unshakeable. We came to encourage them, but they encouraged us far more.

Looking Ahead

Despite the challenges, we are already planning next year's conference. The need is too great, the harvest too plentiful, and the call too clear to stop now.

We are exploring additional security measures and possibly expanding to multiple regional conferences to make attendance safer and more accessible for remote pastors.
